From March 1, 1998 to date, the firm has been involved in the issuance of over a half a billion dollars in long term municipal debt. The attorneys practicing in the area of public finance have over twenty-five years combined experience in public finance matters that cover virtually all areas of public finance. To assist state and local issuers in meeting their infrastructure and other governmental needs, the firm's attorneys have advised governmental issuers and underwriters in all phases of both general obligation, tax secured and revenue bond financings, and both current and advance refundings. Long Law Firm presently serves as Co-bond Counsel to the State of Louisiana. More specifically, the public finance practice group's attorneys have participated in financings involving such projects as water and sewer systems, port and airport facilities, multi-family and single family housing, hospital equipment and facilities, economic and community development, higher education, health care and water management. Many of these financings have been structured as floating or variable rate put transactions involving credit enhancement. Long Law Firm attorneys have also developed alternative financing structures such as real estate and equipment certificates of participation and lease-purchase financings, and complex pooled security programs. |
