U. S. Attorney Donald Cazayoux, Jr., and Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Lane Ewing, Jr. to join Long Law Firm Early July

Cazayoux, Jr., and Assistant U.S. Attorney, J. Lane Ewing, Jr. will be joining the firm in early July. Long Law Firm has a twenty-five year history of navigating local and national clients through complicated legal cases, transactions, regulatory systems and government administrative processes.
Cazayoux brings twenty years of stellar legal experience as a civil and criminal litigator to Long Law Firm. During his tenure as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana, Cazayoux directed efforts to reduce healthcare and disaster-related fraud. Cazayoux has served as the Executive Director of the National Center for Disaster Fraud, and he led several high-profile public corruption cases, corporate fraud and complex drug and gun cases during his term. Prior to being appointed U.S. Attorney, Cazayoux was a member of the United States Congress and the Louisiana House of Representatives.

In addition to Cazayoux, Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Lane Ewing, Jr. will also be joining Long Law Firm. Ewing brings substantial litigation and trial experience in complex tax fraud, money laundering and high-level narcotics trafficking investigations and prosecutions to the firm. Ewing’s skills will complement Long Law Firm’s complex litigation practice and will allow the establishment of a white-collar criminal defense practice.
Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ewing gained civil litigation experience at the law offices of Don Cazayoux and Jewell and Jewell. Ewing served as Projects Director for Congressman Cazayoux, where he secured over $16 million dollars in appropriations for the sixth congressional district of Louisiana.
Cazayoux earned his B.S. and M.A. from Louisiana State University and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law School. Ewing is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his B.B.A., and of Tulane Law School.
