Mr. Guerry is a litigation partner with over 20 years trial experience.  His legal practice specifically includes representation in the fields of telecommunications and electric regulatory transactions and litigation; acquisitions and other business transactions and related litigation, banking litigation, general, corporate and franchise structure related business litigation.  Mr. Guerry has also served as Special Counsel to the Louisiana Utilities Restoration Corporation and as litigation counsel to the Louisiana Housing Finance Authority.   Mr. Guerry is also a member of the American Arbitration Association, serving on the large, complex, commercial, construction and mediation panels.  Mr. Guerry is also a mediator and served as an initial founder of the pilot mediation program for the U.S. District for Middle District of Louisiana.  He has been an active participant in bar and charitable activities on the local and state level and has been the recipient of numerous certificates and awards.  He is a frequent speaker on the subject of arbitration, transactional and regulatory litigation. David L. Guerry received his B.A. (History) degree in 1980 and his J.D. in 1984 from Louisiana State University.  He is a partner with Long Law Firm in the firm’s Baton Rouge office.  Mr. Guerry was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1985 and is admitted to practice bar in the U.S. District Court for the Middle, Western and Eastern Districts of Louisiana and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Fourth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Guerry is also active in local community activities.  In the past he has served as a Member of the Board of Directors (1993-1995) and as Chairperson of the Small Business Council of the Greater Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce (1993-1994).   Mr. Guerry has also served the American Heart Association as a Board Member from 1994-1996, and as a Board member of the Sunrise Rotary Club during 1994-1997.  Mr. Guerry has served as a member of the Greater Baton Rouge Airport Commission from 1994-2001 and also was a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Baton Rouge Sports Foundation from 1993-2000. Guerry was named an Outstanding Young Man of Baton Rouge in 1993, and was noted as one of Baton Rouge’s “Top 40 Under 40" in 1997, and is a graduate of, and former president of, the Board of Directors of Leadership of Greater Baton Rouge.  Mr. Guerry is also an alumnus of Leadership Louisiana. Mr. Guerry is also active as a volunteer and fundraiser for Junior Achievement, YMCA, the United Way, the Hospice Foundation, the American Red Cross and others.  Mr. Guerry is a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
